Zusammenfassung:The archaeological site of the ancient colonia Augusta Emerita (Merida, Spain), offers one of the most spectacular mosaics sets in the Roman West. However, a study in detail about the mosaic production of Merida is still necessary, which should consider its workshops as well as the evolution of both the techniques and the style. This paper aims to offer an overview about how Emeritensian workshops, itinerant or not, evolved from the end of the 1st century AD to the 5th century AD.
