Zusammenfassung: | Otoba
is the third largest genus of Myristicaceae in the Neotropics with 12 species, nine of them native to Colombia. Two new species from the department of Antioquia,
O. scottmorii
sp. nov.
and
O. squamosa
sp. nov.
, are described and illustrated.
Otoba scottmorii
occurs in humid, lowland forests, while
O. squamosa
occurs in premontane forest. Previously,
Otoba scottmorii
was confused with
O. acuminata
(which here is considered restricted to Costa Rica and Panama), while
O. squamosa
was confused with
O. gordoniifolia
. The similarities and differences between these and other species are discussed. |
