Zusammenfassung:Optical soliton has become one of the most effective transmission carriers in optical communication system by virtue of its own characteristics and transmission properties. In this paper, we investigate the propagation properties of soliton pulses in a multimode fiber with higher-order effects such third-order dispersion and self-steepening nonlinearity. We study the control of propagation characteristic factors of single soliton in the fiber medium within the framework of a coupled pair of higher-order nonlinear Schrödinger equations. Analytical one-soliton solution of such coupled wave system is derived by using the Hirota method. It is found that the considerable physical properties of optical soliton can be controlled effectively by choosing different parameters. These results may be helpful to the study of various nonlinear effects in high power optical communication systems. •Soliton control of single soliton in multimode fiber is studied.•Analytical one-soliton solution of the coupled higher-order NLSEs is derived.•Techniques of control the propagation characteristic factors of single soliton are suggested.
