Zusammenfassung: | Chinese hickory is well-known for its high nutritional nuts; however, it was severely threatened by trunk cankers. In addition to the dominant species B. dothidea, our group has also identified three new Botryosphaeria species that can cause trunk canker on Chinese hickory. All these species are important pathogens with a wide range of hosts. Botryosphaeriaceae spp. are the most common and widespread pathogens of woody hosts globally. In recent years, there have been more and more disease problems reported in plant communities linked to Botryosphaeriales spp. and, commonly, also to climate change events or cases of human disturbance. Here, three representative strains from Chinese hickory trees in Zhejiang province of China were used for genome sequencing. |
