Zusammenfassung:Salivary tumours are uncommon, comprising only 2–5 per cent of head and neck neoplasms,1 with mucoepidermoid carcinoma (MEC) being the most common salivary cancer in both adults and children.1–4 Clinically, head and neck MEC can present variably from being asymptomatic to locally or metastatically aggressive.5,6 Treatment is primary surgical resection with neck dissection. The use of adjuvant radiotherapy is indicated for patients at high risk of recurrence, such as those with a high tumour stage, positive resection margins and high histological grading.6–8
