Zusammenfassung:In response to Ecuador’s ongoing energy crisis, it is essential to explore solutions such as incorporating renewable energy projects into the system. This article presents a novel methodology to evaluate the energy impact of integrating intermittent renewable energy sources into the operation of power systems from a stochastic perspective, applied to the Yanahurcu wind farm project of 52.8 MW installed capacity. Using historical wind data from reanalysis databases, the wind resource is modeled using a Histogram-Based Gaussian Space Correlation Model. Afterwards, the wind farm modeling enables simulations to be run for a variety of case studies within SimSEE software, version 127.263. The results indicate that the methodology is effective, showing that the wind farm could match Ecuador’s current annual wind energy production.
