Analysis of the representation: The migrants in Theo Angelopoulos’ cinema

Theo Angelopoulos has treated the figure of the helpless, ignored and forgotten by institutions and society in general from different perspectives. One of the keys to approach and understand the problems of refugees, returnees and stateless persons as well as the migration history of the twentieth century in the Balkans area is through the analysis of the form of representation of migrants in his films. So, this article focuses on the study of certain characters, dialogues and images of the filmmaker's work. This will help to understand the circumstances in which these people are due to political and social decisions beyond themselves.
