Zusammenfassung:Diabetic neuropathy (DN) is the most common and early microvascular alteration associated to diabetes mellitus (DM); however, this event is most missed and less diagnosed. At the same time, it is widely known that metabolic syndrome (MS) is highly prevalent and the relationship between this status and macrovascular commitment is documented. The Diabetic Neuropathy Committee is focused in analyzing the neuropathic effect within the framework of MS and in one of its components such as non-diabetic disglycemia. The under diagnosis and increase of morbidity and mortality risk of these patients alert the medical community of the existence of this microvascular alteration exceeding the DM framework and is also present in MS and disglycemia either at fasting and postprandial.
