Zusammenfassung: | A 2-week-old baby girl was transferred to our facility with a suspected diagnosis hypertrophic pyloric stenosis. The diagnosis was confirmed by ultrasound, however an adjacent cystic structure was noted in close proximity to the pylorus concerning for a duplication cyst. Following the decision to address the hypertrophic pyloric stenosis first to allow growth and improve her nutritional status, she initially underwent an uneventful laparoscopic pyloromyotomy. However, due to continued postoperative oral intolerance she underwent an upper gastrointestinal series that was consistent with gastric outlet obstruction. She was taken for an open pyloric duplication cyst excision and has subsequently continued to grow and thrive. |
