IEC 534-8-3 has much to commend it. It has achieved the difficult task of producing reasonably accurate answers to a most complex problem entirely by theoretical means. The standard provides a benchmark for the industry which should find acceptance by manufacturers and users. There may be some aspects of it that can be improved and these will be examined as they arise by IEC committee SC65B/WG9. (Abstract quotes from original text)
