Zusammenfassung:Healthcare in Romania is mainly financed (around 75%) from public resources (government schemes and social compulsory health insurance), just less than 25% of total expenditure on health coming from other sources such as co-payments, informal patient payments and payments from other insurance companies. The paper aim is to analyze the evolution of the Romanian Voluntary private health insurance (VPHI) market in 2016-2018 period of time and, based on the indicators analyzed and on the opinions from literature, to provide explanations of the evolution and some ideas for future development.
