Zusammenfassung: | Myofunctional therapy (MFT) involves oropharyngeal exercise to improve oral hypofunction. Recently, the efficacy of mild-to-moderate obstructive sleep apnea syndrome has been reported. This is the first case report of MFT being effective for severe obstructive sleep apnea and oral hypofunction in an older adult patient.MFT is expected to gain more attention as an alternative treatment option for individuals intolerant to treatments such as continuous positive airway pressure and oral appliances. |
