Zusammenfassung: | Juraj Krizanic (1618-1683) was a Croatian polyhistorian and a proto-ecumenist. His life was extensively studied by the Croatian writer and theologist Ivan Golub (1930-2018). Golub's interest in Krizanic was both academic and literary, the latter resulting in several poems dedicated to Krizanic, in a literary biography of Krizanic, and also a script which he wrote for a documentary film depicting his life and deeds. Golub also referred to Krizanic in numerous essays, and even in his autobiography. This paper targets that part of Golub's opus, with special emphasis on the relationship between the documentary and fictional representation, i.e. on the objective and subjective techniques that Golub used in his depiction of the historical figure. Keywords Juraj Krizanic; Ivan Golub; Documentary; Literary Biography; Citation; Autobiographical Discourse. |
