Zusammenfassung:The aim of this paper is to lead a critical analysis about the videogame Total War: Attila. This historical game will be studied as an interpretation of the past, upon which it is possible to develop several critics on different levels. After analysing the game’s content, it will be studied how Total War: Attila can be used as an autonomous tool for the exploration of the past. Finally, the videogame will be viewed in the perspective of Digital Public History. With the analysis of modding and through the examination of a forum of a single total conversion mod – the Medieval Kingdom 1212 A.D. – it will be studied how the players interact with history.
