Los recursos retóricos en Libro segundo del Espejo del perfecto príncipe cristiano de Francisco de Monzón: estructura y argumentación

This work studies the structure and argumentation of the Libro segundo del Espejo del perfecto príncipe cristiano written by Francisco de Monzón. The book is the second part of a «Mirror for Princes» dedicated to John III of Portugal, which existence was unknown until recently. In this text, our author tries to convince the Portuguese monarch and other potential readers that, in order to become a perfect republic, all members —including the prince— have to learn how properly do their jobs (from a technical and moral standpoint) and have different occupations commensurate with their condition and status. To achieve this goal, Monzón uses many and varied rhetorical devices, that are discussed trough these pages.
