Zusammenfassung:The most important factor in the diagnosis of rectal injuries is suspicion. Rectal injury should be considered in penetrating trauma affecting the perineum, upper thighs, gluteal regions, and lower abdomen. With vacuum-assisted therapy, a certain negative pressure is applied to the wound to accelerate wound healing and the development of the granulation tissue. In this study, a patient who presented with rectal injury and was treated with vacuum-assisted therapy is discussed in light of the literature.
