Zusammenfassung:The aim of this study is to demonstrate the size effect which is resulted from the distributed cracks causing the collapse of concrete material. For this purpose, it is determined the size effect parameters for normal strength concrete depending on applied load state and element geometry and bilogarithmic plots of size effect relating to material behavior, which are assigned by the border between the linear elastic fracture mechanic (LEFM) and strength criteria. For this purpose two series normal strength concrete double cantilever beams are applied the compressive loads parallel to the cantilever axes. The loads are applied at two different eccentricity and compared with each other. In addition, the eccentricity of material brittle effect is investigated. The results for each series and eccentricities are prepared as the size effect curves and the size effect parameters are found. It is seen that, the elements approach the compression/shear failure mode while the eccentricities are small, and the behavior of elements become brittle.
