Zusammenfassung:Th e work String quartet by the Moldovan composer Boris Dubosarschi was decisively infl uenced by the artistic heritage of the great Russian composer Dmitri Shostakovich. Besides the usage of tonal-modal means and intervals characteristic of Dmitri Shostakovich’s creation, in his string quartets Boris Dubosarschi, constantly makes use of the musical signature of D. Shostakovich – D-Es-C-H. Th is article describes the transformations that Shostakovich’s monogram undergoes in the String Quartet No.1 by B.Dubosarschi, demonstrating inventiveness and high compositional mastery in the numerous modifi cations to which is subjected the thematism developed out from a single thematic core, originating in the D-Es-C-H monogram.
