Dengue with wet purpura imported from Ecuador in a Colombian traveler

Interestingly, in a recent study from a tertiary care hospital in Northwestern India, which evaluated the prevalence of dengue serotypes and its correlation with the laboratory profile, while thrombocytopenia was present in all serotypes of dengue infection, with the lowest value noted in DENV 1 and DENV 3, there was a statistically non-significant difference in the platelet counts between the different serotypes of infection [5].
