Zusammenfassung: | The figure of the squire/gallant sheds light to his versatile character in the argument in the comedies of Siglo de Oro. The secret halo that accompanies this character intensifies when he does his initial appearance as a guest and so he turns into a kind of instrument of secrecy. The goal of this article is to recognize the clues permeated by the secret and to see how it impacts on the behavior and the presence of the guest in relation to the spaces of his representation. The comedies to be taken into account are the following: Bien vengas, mal, si vienes solo and Mejor está que estaba. |
