Les représentations de l’amitié sur Facebook

The authors provide a reflection on the social representation of friendship, both offline and on Facebook. Their investigation seeks to understand and compare Facebook users' definitions of friendship in everyday life and online. They also examine what users think of their online relationships. The aim is to provide an account of Facebook’s particular role in the development of friendly relationships between users in accordance with their multiple strategies for managing the entirety of their Facebook contact networks.
