Zusammenfassung:Below is data on the microbial diversity in bottom sediments and microbial mats in water bodies within the Kurai Mercury Province (Ulagan District, Aktash village, Gorny Altai). A database on the geochemical features of water bodies in the study area is presented. Data was obtained using 16 s rRNA amplicon directed metagenomic sequencing on Illumina MiSeq. The raw sequence data used for analysis is available in NCBI under the Sequence Read Archive (SRA) with BioProject No. PRJNA670076 and SRA accession numbers SRX9316205, SRX9316207, SRX9316208, SRX9316209.
