Zusammenfassung:The last three decades were characterized by changes in family structures, which influenced the relationship between grandparents, parents and grandchildren in situations of care. In these multigenerational homes, can be pointed out benefits and difficulties. This study aimed to investigate how young people raised by grandparents and parents perceive and experience of the situation and the relationship established between them. We obtained a sample of 43 granddaughters and 35 grandsons, with average of 16 years old and 15 years living in this situation. We used a questionnaire with 13 multiple choice questions and an open question. It can be concluded that: a) the behavior of caregivers and the availability of time are the distinguishing features between parents and grandparents, b) the grandchildren investigated presented a favorable concept about their caregivers and education given by them, describing the feeling of happiness upon this experience.
