Zusammenfassung: | Terry remembers Michael W. Suleiman. He was awarded no fewer than five Fulbright-Hays Fellowships, in addition to receiving research grants from the National Endowment for the Humanities, the American Institute of Maghribi Studies, and a Ford Faculty Research Fellowship among others. He was also the recipient of a number of operating grants to arrange conferences, lecture series, and concerts. As an active member of MESA, he frequently presented papers and chaired panels at the annual conventions and rendered valuable advice to the Ethics Committee during the 1990s. He also sat on the Board of Governors for the One of the original founders of AAUG, he worked with this activist Arab American organization throughout its sometimes tumultuous and extremely productive history. He was elected the 1977 AAUG President and chaired the publications committee in 1989. |
