A simple, inexpensive, and efficient synthesis of 1,4-dihydropyridines in good yield in the presence of an organocatalyst N-(phenylsulfonyl)benzene sulfonamide in an eco-friendly solvent at 75 °C is described. The key advantages of the present method are high yields, short reaction time, easy workup, catalyst recycling, and reusability, which gives economic and ecological rewards at a mild temperature.
