Zusammenfassung: | I.I. Grishin1, S.Zh. Danelyan2, E.I. Borovkova1, V.A. Roshchina1 1Pirogov Russian National Research Medical University, Moscow, Russian Federation 2City Clinical Hospital No. 40, Moscow, Russian Federation The effect of uterine artery embolization on fertility still remains elusive. Currently, the data on the effect of uterine artery embolization on the ability to conceive, to maintain pregnancy, and to deliver in women with uterine fibroids are scarce. Uterine fibroids are common in sterile women. However, some data suggest that these benign tumors are associated with infertility in 5% to 10% of cases only when other causes of reproductive dysfunction are excluded. Recently, this issue has become particularly important since women tend to get pregnant later. The paper describes clinical case of several successful pregnancy and delivery after uterine artery embolization. The authors conclude that uterine artery embolization in women of reproductive age who want to become pregnant is quite possible. Uterine artery embolization can be applied as an independent treatment for uterine fibroids or in combination with surgery at the first step thus making myomectomy easier. Uterine artery embolization is a highly effective method to restore reproductive function. Keywords: uterine fibroids, uterine artery embolization, pregnancy, delivery, reproduction, fertility.
