Zusammenfassung:This paper discusses the problems of unequal access to telework during the Covid-19 crisis in Japan. After examining the definitions of telework, the historical development of the reality of telework in the various institutional arrangements that Japan has experimentally put in place is outlined. Then, based on the socio-economics approach, the segmentation of the labor market, characterized by the gender polarization of jobs, and its effects on access to telework are explored. This statistical work is mainly based on a national survey panel conducted during the Covid-19 crisis in 2020.
