Zusammenfassung:High-fat, low carb dieting, also known as the “ketogenic diet,” has increased in popularity as a rapid weight-loss tool. Previous studies describe a modest elevation in cholesterol in the average keto-diet participant without specific cardiovascular impact. We hypothesize that patients with a genetic predisposition to cholesterol metabolism dysregulation may have a disproportionate elevation in cholesterol in response to ketogenic dieting.
