Zusammenfassung:The concern about the environment and energy savings is a recurring issue today. Cooling systems are important in the industrial and home context and both are large energy consumers. Currently, the vast majority of refrigeration systems use non-renewable energy, which has several negative points in its use. Thus, this work consists of the study of adsorption refrigeration in a sustainable way without using electric energy or energy sources harmful to the environment. Using solar energy as a source of heat, instead. The properties and characteristics of some adsorbent pairs were investigated, being the adsorbent the activated carbon and as an adsorbate the anhydrous ethanol. For the validation of concepts, a prototype was constructed where the tests were promoted, serving as the basis for a comparative evaluation, in terms of performance coeficiente
