Seguridad democrática y desarrollo en el caribe

Este artículo explora la relación entre desarrollo y seguridaden el área del Caribe. La tesis está sustentada en la idea que la situaciónde cada sociedad y los retos que debe enfrentar llenan a losconceptos de contenido diferente. A partir de este planteamiento, elautor identifica las definiciones que rigen las políticas de seguridaddemocrática en el Caribe y en Colombia, así como sus intentos deaplicación en el área.This article explores the relation between development and security inthe Caribbean region. The thesis is supported on the idea that the situationof each society and the challenges it have to face bring to the concepts different content. From this idea, the author identifies the definitions that rule democratic security policies in the Caribbean and in Colombia, as well astheir application in the region.
