Doutores Por um Triz: Porque rir é o melhor remédio

The extension project: “Doutores... Por um Triz”, in activity since May 2001, is an initiative of an amateur theatre group called “Por Um Triz”, inspired by the work of Hunter Adams, a doctor who in the sixties proposed modifi cations in medical treatments. As a practical result of Academy intervention possibilities in the community the project “Doutores... Por um Triz” contemplates the need of medicine humanization in discussion in hospital environments and the promotion of an alternative treatment, based on the relation established between art and health. The humanization set itself as an inclination that a recurring theme, as seen by the increasing number of volunteers in hospitals and the number of groups that use the clown mask: more than 1100 groups registered in the studies centre of group “Doutores da Alegria”.
