Alla voce Sciascia. Echi di stampa dal centenario

Ripercorrendo il profilo intellettuale e letterario di Leonardo Sciascia, questo contributo si sofferma su quei momenti, scritti e aspetti che, secondo noi, hanno determinato, forse più di altri, la sua varia fortuna critica, anche una controversa fortuna, e la sua sempre bruciante attualità. Nell’intento di rendergli un omaggio a più “voci”, esso richiama quelle testimonianze e memorie di scrittori, studiosi, giornalisti e artisti, che, riportate su libri, giornali e riviste in occasione del centenario della nascita dell’autore siciliano, permettono di riflettere ancora una volta, a mente lucida e distaccata, su ciò che di più prezioso e unico Sciascia ci ha lasciato in eredità, in tema di libertà, giustizia, legalità e anticonformismo. Ma anche quanto sia stato in ogni tempo abrasivo, non indolore, il suo rapporto con la pubblica opinione e i poteri costituiti. Retracing the intellectual and literary profile of Leonardo Sciascia, this contribution dwells on the moments, writings and aspects that, in our opinion, have determined, perhaps more than others, his varied critical fate and legacy, even controversial ones, which remain acute topics today. With the aim of paying him homage through several “voices”, it recalls the testimonies and memories of writers, scholars, journalists and artists, which were reported in books, newspapers and magazines on the occasion of the centenary of the Sicilian author’s birth. Such testimonies and memories allow us to reflect once again, with a clear and detached mind, on the most precious and unique things that Sciascia left us as a legacy, in the matter of freedom, justice, legality and nonconformism. But also how abrasive, not painless, his relationship with public opinion and the established powers has always been.
