Zusammenfassung: | Childhood immunization is recommended and publicized globally, whereas the adult population, which comprises more than 60% of the total population, still suffers from vaccine-preventable diseases due to factors ranging from personal neglect to immunosenescence. This burden is vastly seen in developing nations like India where adults constitute a large chunk of economic productivity. This article highlights the current scenario and recommendations for adult immunization globally taking into account special conditions such as immunization in the geriatric population, pregnant women, and in travelers. |
