Writing and memory. From the myth of Theuth to the ‘De umbris idearum’ of Giordano Bruno

This article aims to show the link between the Platonic myth of Theuth in the Phaedrus dialogue and in De umbris idearum of Bruno, through the reformulation of the writing/memory binomial. Bruno’s method promises to infinitely potentiate memory and can be read as an answer to the Platonic thesis.
