Zusammenfassung:In order to identify supplemental educational services that are included in the standards of quality of medical education in Mexico, an analytical study was conducted documentary from the field of hermeneutics, in 4 phases. In Mexico, the 43.81% of medical schools are accredited force. The standard 25% and 23.46% of indicators distributed in 5 of 7 paragraphs of self-assessment tool, correspond to supplemental educational services; and correspond to services related to: development of cognitive skills, equity in education, strengthening the educational process, formation of the student. We conclude that supplemental educational services are relevant to the development of medical education quality; although the epistemic, methodological and practical review sections, standards and indicators is required to link to quality management models, allowing to understand the impact on medical student training.
