Highlights•An elevated fasting glucose defined 80% of laboratory GDM positive diagnoses. •Selected glucometers fulfilled ISO 15197:2013 recommended accuracy at fasting of OGTT. •All glucometers evaluated were inaccurate at one and two hours of OGTT.
