O BIBLIOTECÁRIO E A MEDIAÇÃO DA INFORMAÇÃO NO CONTEXTO DAS BIBLIOTECAS UNIVERSITÁRIAS

It is about the importance of information mediation for the university library professional. It discuss about the approach between information mediation and information literacy. It searchs in the literature of Library Science and Information Science, through bibliography review, theoretical approach with these methods, creating reflections about the importance of an information professional’s post-custodial mediation posture, specially by the librarians, making them rethink practices that facilitate the process of mediation. The results show that the information mediation thematic is being increasingly studied and its theoretical consolidate contributions, concretizing in a multi and interdisciplinary object, make us believe that, for a best comprehension about this so exciting and at the same time so needed thematic, new mixed areas are necessary. The professional ambient compared to others contexts may contribute for Information Science’s maturation.
