Toothpick perforation of the cecum in a child mimicking acute appendicitis

We present a case of cecal perforation secondary to a toothpick ingestion, which was not diagnosed by history, physical examination or imaging techniques, and was diagnosed intraoperatively during a laparoscopic appendectomy.
