Zusammenfassung:The main problems due to corrosion, which can occur in the ferrous material pipes of wells and conduits, are examined, depending on the chemical-physical and bacteriological composition of the water conveyed in them. The problems related to the corrosion of the internal surfaces of the pipes were addressed both through theoretical studies and laboratory investigations, and through checks on the behavior of pipelines in place. An optimal solution is presented for the preservation of the internal surface of the pipes, as well as an extract of the Authors’ experiences on corrosion by water against ferrous materials of water wells, but also of aqueduct networks and industrial plants, with reference to the origin and activity of the main microorganisms, such as iron bacteria and sulphur bacteria, responsible for corrosion phenomena.
