Zusammenfassung:As the Algerian learner evolves in an environment that perfectly illustrates the contact dimension of languages/cultures, it was considered necessary to introduce two parameters in a foreign language class : plurilingualism and interculturality. In this regard, it is a question of highlighting, by means of a questionnaire and an interview, the representations of French teachers of intercultural competence and the place it occupies in the first year of a French degree class, at the University of Béjaia. Our contribution will lead to didactic perspectives. The latter aim to develop intercultural competence in order to promote otherness among Algerian students and to make the French class an environment of openness and acceptance of the other.
