Zusammenfassung: | [The Indo-US Nuclear Deal is contrary to the non-proliferation objectives professed by the international community and a violation of the non-proliferation commitments of NPT and NSG member states. After the Deal and the related importance given thereby to India, it has become more difficult and indeed arrogant in its attitude and relations towards Pakistan. If a process of nuclear discrimination and exceptionalism proceeds with the objective of some countries to make India a member of the NSG before Pakistan, the consequences would be serious and multidimensional. Under the rule of consensus India would be able to block any NSG decision of cooperation with Pakistan. Pakistan seeks a just and non-discriminatory global non-proliferation regime which is inclusive and principle-based, and not tailored to accommodate any specific country.] |
