Zusammenfassung: | Article assumption is that we are having serious difficulties in the promotion and development of a convoy of civic values that we consider necessary for coexistence in a plural and open society. A society that has placed the school gradually almost the entire responsibility for the transmission of civic values. The school, however, does not seem to be able by itself to resolve this situation, which does not meet other educational agencies, especially the family. The authors' thesis is that education, understood as a process of care, although a necessary, is insufficient to strengthen civic behavior of a democratic society. We are fully in the eternal debate, suspiciously silent in postmodern times, the limits of education in their role in promoting civic individuals. The prevailing view of education as a palliative and, on many occasions, correcting inusual social situations is clearly displayed insufficient.
