Zusammenfassung:The current research explores the role of humor in couples' relationships. The study sample consisted of 539 people. Of these, 459 are women and 80 are men. 69 couples (138 people) took part in the study. During the theoretical analysis and empirical research, the connection between the styles of humor (according to R. Martin) with the peculiarities of communication in a couple and the sexual satisfaction of partners was proved. A link has been proven between the styles of humor and the age of the respondents, as well as the stage of the life cycle of the family in which the couple is. Humor has been shown to play a different role in the relationship between men and women (regardless of the gender of their partners). An analysis conducted to compare the styles of humor within couples showed that similar styles of humor in partners are not associated with their greater satisfaction from communication and sex in a couple. At the same time, we found that the presence of an aggressive style of humor in at least one of the partners is positively associated with satisfaction from the sexual life of both.
