Zusammenfassung: | Mesodermal origin tumors of the oral cavity and adjacent structures are an important part of stomatology due to the role that the oral cavity professional plays in the diagnosis and treatment of these lesions. Lipomas are benign neoplasms of adipose cells, extremely rare in the oral cavity. The buccal mucosa, tongue and floor of the mouth are some of the most common sites. The typical clinical presentation is that of an asymptomatic, yellow submucosal tumor lesion. Surgical removal is the treatment of choice, recurrence is rarely seen. A clinical case of lipoma on the tongue in a 60-years-old male patient is presented, which involves the dorsal aspect of the tongue at the level of the anterior third, diagnosed and treated at the Dr. Gustavo Aldereguia Lima General Hospital. |
