Zusammenfassung:This article aims to contribute to reflections on what makes occupational risk prevention sustainable, based on the analysis of the work of prevention advisors. It is rooted in a research-intervention commissioned by the Caisse Centrale de la Mutualité Sociale Agricole (MSA), as part of its 2021-2025 Occupational Health and Safety Plan. Firstly, the theoretical framework articulates three fields of the ergonomics literature: 1) the literature on sustainable prevention of MSDs, 2) the literature on the notions of sustainable work and decent work, and 3) the literature on the concept of sustainable development; together, this enables to identify an original reading grid to characterize sustainable prevention. Secondly, based on a retrospective analysis of six service relationships conducted by prevention advisors from four MSA with affiliated companies, we show that the quality of the service relationship is a condition for the sustainability of prevention. The prevention advisors aim to build unique and lasting relationships with their members. These relationships are a means of co-constructing actions that promote collective and primary prevention. Each prevention action is thus thought of as a part in a potential larger game that may (or may not) be actualized. These results are discussed along four axes in the light of the three fields of literature mentioned.
