Zusammenfassung: | Hybrid tumours are defined as two or more neoplasms which are sharply demarcated and possess distinct histologic, molecular and prognostic features occurring in one organ. The incidence of hybrid tumour in the parotid gland is low, accounting for 0.1% of the tumours. These lesions pose significant challenge to the cytopathologist, as the needle may pass through both the lesions, with smears showing representation from both, misleading the cytopathologist. Herein, we report a cytologic dilemma encountered in case of a hybrid tumour of parotid gland comprising of epithelial myoepithelial carcinoma and Warthin’s tumour which was misinterpreted as mucoepidermoid carcinoma with pleomorphic adenoma at cytology. |
