Zusammenfassung:This article is a reflection about the outcomes of implementation and development of the tourism project of the town named Cancun, in the state of Quintana Roo, México, from the urban hospitality point of view. The goal is to present an overview about the results of the implementation and development of the tourism in this town and the impact on the daily life and way of living of the local population, and also, in the residents relationship with the town. The research, which is a qualitative analysis, was based on direct observations, in consequence of the work experience of the researcher in the local hospitality industry and also as a local resident in Cancun for five years; based on bibliography research and academic papers as well as government sources, especially the Plan Maestro 2020 that was essential to the analysis of the testimonies heard during field research. The results of the research allows to evaluate the relationship between fast and uncontrolled development  of the destination and its consequences.
