Zusammenfassung:The History of the so-called « barbaric world » which became established at the end of the Roman Empire, and more precisely, of the Wisigothic kingdoms of Southern France and Iberic peninsula, from the Vth to the VIIIth century, keeps on developing. The History of art of this period is more difficult to establish, and, probably therefore, gives rise to fewer researches. The article tries to assess what we know about arts in the first capital of the Wisigothic kingdom, Toulouse, in the Vth century.
