Zusammenfassung: | In this paper I passionately analyse the De motu antiquiora (hereafter De motu) of the Edizione Nazionale [Galilei 1890-1909, hereafter EN] by Galileo Galilei (1564-1642). This work by the young Galilean was written between 1589 and 1592. It deals with the motion of falling bodies and clearly rejects Aristotle’s physics of motion and his cosmological conceptualizations. It was never composed as a final draft and was published only after his death. The De motu antiquiora presents a few mathematical uncertainties typical of that time which I discuss in this paper. |
