Investigation of the prevalence and risk factors of Helicobacter pylori infection and the value of different gastric cancer screening methods in a low-risk region of gastric cancer in China

BACKGROUNDThe aim of this current study was to identify the prevalence and risk factors of H. pylori infection in the low-risk area of gastric cancer in China, and evaluate the value of different gastric cancer screening methods. METHODSAn epidemiological study was conducted in Yudu County, Jiangxi, China, and participants were followed up for 6 years. All participants completed a questionnaire, laboratory tests and endoscopy. Patients were divided into H. pylori positive and negative groups, and risk factors for H. pylori infection were identified using multivariate logistic regression analysis.
